Jonny Larsen's Statement About the Internal Survey

My campaign ran this survey. It is a snapshot in time, and we do not claim it is a prediction. Read like a focus group, it shows how much I moved voters once they knew more about me.

So many voters have told me they feel their voice doesn’t matter and their representatives don’t listen. More than 6 in 10 respondents are dissatisfied with Rep. Kennedy’s performance, including nearly half of Republicans. People of every party want something new. They want someone who understands the challenges they face, with the courage to listen and the integrity to do what is right.

We asked the same question twice, “How likely are you to vote for Jonny Larsen this November?” once at the start, and again at the end after respondents had read a short bio. Among undecided voters, those likely to vote for me more than tripled, from 14.1% to 47.3%. Among Republicans, it rose from 35.9% to 51.2%. One in three who first said they were unlikely to vote for me changed their answer, and one in five moved all the way to likely.

I don’t want us to be a country coming apart; rather, I want us to be a country coming together. Governor Cox asks us to disagree better. I believe we also need to agree better because we are more alike than politicians or the news want us to think. I want to work on the 90% of things we agree on instead of fighting over the 10% we don’t.
