The Network of Utah Moderates' guide to the 4th District race. It says Larsen, a Marine veteran who grew up in a trailer park and spent time in foster care, would bring a "highly unusual and, in our opinion, helpful background to Congress," notes he is one of the few candidates talking about helping both farmers and veterans, and credits him for not criticizing voters across the aisle. The group says it cannot in good conscience recommend Kennedy, and that Larsen has more momentum and a better chance of making a dent.

UPR's recap of the Snow College debate. Larsen, a Marine combat veteran, argues that ending the Iran War would bring the quickest relief at the pump and that Kennedy gave up Congress's Article I power to declare war. He says ending "egregious tariffs" would make homes more affordable to build, and that public lands must remain in public hands to protect the ecosystem and water supplies.

The Tribune's voter guide to the 4th District race, with each candidate answering the same questions. Larsen, a Marine Corps combat veteran and self-described "Blue Dog Democrat," backs the Unrig Washington campaign to ban congressional stock trading, reject corporate PAC money and end dark money; ties the affordability crisis to the Iran War and its cost; calls for federal help converting farm irrigation to put water back into the Great Salt Lake; and says Congress should "agree better" on the 90% of issues voters share.

The Tribune's recap of the only televised debate in the race, at Snow College in Ephraim. Larsen, a Marine Corps combat veteran, says Kennedy gave up his constitutional duty by backing the Iran War without congressional approval, and calls for ending it to bring gas prices down. A cancer survivor treated through the VA, he makes the case for that kind of care for every American, defends federal public lands and the PILT payments rural counties rely on, and calls ICE raids "very sinister."

Utah News Dispatch's debate recap leads with Larsen's closing question to voters: do they want a "blue dog" or a lap dog to the Trump administration? It covers his call to end the Iran War to bring fuel prices down, his push to protect public lands and rural groundwater from mining and drilling, and his criticism of the ICE detentions at the Moroni turkey plant in Sanpete County. The story was also republished by the Daily Herald, News From The States and PoliticIt.

Jim Hightower's Lowdown spotlights seven everyday people who decided to run this fall, including Larsen: a Marine who knows what hard work takes, and why safety nets matter when it isn't enough. The piece quotes Jonny on the Marine Corps lesson of committing to something bigger than yourself, and on how his grandmother's Teamster pension, Medicare, and Social Security gave her the stability to raise him.

The Deseret News walks through the debate question by question. Larsen calls himself a "blue dog" Democrat focused on the 90% of issues voters agree on, and lays out his positions: end the Iran War, end the tariffs driving up building costs so homes are affordable again, revisit the Colorado River Compact, protect groundwater from mining and drilling, and invest in solar.

KSL's recap of the debate at Snow College's Eccles Performing Arts Center. Larsen makes direct appeals to Republican voters as a moderate "blue dog" Democrat, calls out Kennedy for voting against resolutions to limit the president's war powers, and closes by asking voters whether they want a blue dog or a lapdog to this administration. Afterward, he says he'll keep doing what he has done all along: boots on the ground, meeting voters so they feel heard.

KUER's recap of the debate in a district the new map tripled in size. Larsen calls the Iran War illegal and says Kennedy failed his duty as a congressman to end it, backs better irrigation so conserved water can reach the Great Salt Lake, says public lands must remain in public hands, and closes by asking Republicans to put party aside and vote for someone who wants government to work together.

FOX 13's debate recap. Larsen, who did two combat tours, calls for ending the Iran War, says public lands must remain in public hands, and backs a moratorium on data centers until they can work for everyone, saying district voters are upset and not being listened to. He closes by asking Republicans to cross over and vote for a moderate Democrat.

The KSL Investigators fact-check both candidates. Larsen's claim that Kennedy voted against war powers resolutions on Iran six times is rated true. Kennedy's claim about Iran's missile range is rated unproven, and his BlackRock claim both true and false. KSL also rates Larsen's $650,000 Utah County home-price figure false, finding medians of $523,000 for all housing and $605,000 for single-family homes.

Larsen, the Democratic candidate for Utah's 4th District, which includes Sanpete County, calls the current national approach to immigration enforcement a disgrace.
